We invest to deliver strong performance and a social and environmental benefit, in accordance with our desire to be a force for good.
Our values of human dignity, sustainability and good corporate citizenship focus our efforts and provide a common language to speak with like-minded investors striving for similar goals.
Responsible, sustainable and impact investing are embedded across our investment process. We refer to our end-to-end approach as values-based investing.
"We are always thinking ahead, applying our expertise in new ways to find better, sustainable and impactful solutions that help our clients move forward."
How do we go about values-based investing?
A good first step is fully understanding how businesses and fund managers place environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues alongside financial merit.
A next step is relating this to our clients’ values and objectives. We do not impose our values on others – we would like to get to know each and every client in order to better understand their beliefs and then translate these into the right solution.
Three values form the base of our investment process:
- Human dignity: every person has value, is worthy of great respect and must be free from slavery, manipulation and exploitation. To safeguard human dignity as a value we use the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights as a minimum standard.
- Sustainability: climate change and environmental pollution are among the biggest challenges in today’s world. By investing in companies that are actively improving their impact on the world we aim to preserve our planet for generations to come.
- Good corporate citizenship: this translates into embracing our own corporate environmental and social impact, into being a responsible investor, and into aligning our investment process with our purpose and client values.
